Description
The water purification team is charged with designing a system of treatment that will clean the rain water collected off of the Grocoff's home to potable standards. Not only does the system need to deal with the contaminants in the rain water, it must also meet the strict regulations of the Living Building Challenge Red List for materials. The most important factor of this portion of the system is safety. In order to install and use the designed purification system, the effluent water must consistently meet all EPA standards for drinking water. The purification team is currently modeling the removal of contaminants by the proposed system and preparing to prototype the proposed system on the University of Michigan campus.
